Why use a mortgage broker?

I'll summarize the reason in one word - advice.

By not having allegiance to any particular bank, trust company or mortgage firm, I can help you find the right combination of rates and terms that is best for you.    I am not paid any salary - my only compensation comes from arranging financing for families to purchase, renew and refinance homes.

Having the privilege to work and live in a military town, I have seen first hand the impact of bad advice for members of our armed forces.    Mortgages must be portable anywhere in Canada, have generous pre-payment options and military friendly payout clauses.   Many options pushed by the major banks, despite having decent rates, simply do not.

I have personally helped hundreds of military families buy their first home or transfer with the Canadian Military.   I have an intimate knowledge of all benefits you are entitled to from Brookfield, and how to best leverage them to your advantage.    As well, my advice doesn't end on the closing of your home/mortgage.   I can also help you port your mortgage to your new market or help you leverage your lender into a stronger deal on the renewal of your mortgage.   If you don't qualify right away, I am happy to work with you over a period of months (or even years) to help get all your ducks in a row so you can achieve your goal of buying.   Based on the high rate of turnover at some banks and brokerages, this might be tough to accomplish elsewhere.

So for honest, common sense advice from a broker who has your best interest at heart, please consider giving me a call when you are in the market for your next mortgage.
